Re-opening with care

Hughenden Public Library is open! Here is what to expect:

Borrowing and Returns:
  • We encourage you to use our Curbside Service. Request your materials in advance either by placing holds or calling ahead and staff will retrieve them for you. If you place a hold on an item, please wait for notification from us that your item is available for pick-up before coming in.
  • Loan periods may be extended on request.
  • Please use the outside book drop to return library materials.

  • Building capacity is reduced, please respect signage and staff directions.
  • We encourage patrons to do their best to limit their time in the library to 30 minutes. 
  • Please maintain physical distancing. Non-medical face masks or coverings are required while in the building.
  • A maximum of one family or cohort will be permitted in the children's area at one time as the space is too small to maintain physical distancing. 
  • Hand sanitizer is located in the library's entryway and at the staff desk. Please use it as you enter the library and additionally as needed.
  • Tables and chairs are available, please do not move chairs around the building.
  • Our public washroom is available.
  • We are open to serve the public Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays 11 am - 4 pm and Thursdays 11 am - 6 pm.

Computers and Photocopying:
  • Two computers are available to the public.

  • Photocopying and scanning services are available, please ask our staff for assistance.

  • Staff desk is equipped with a plexiglass barrier to safely separate staff and patrons. 
  • Staff will wear a non-medical face mask or covering when not situated behind the barrier.

  • Donations of used books/materials may be accepted at staff discretion.

  • Book sale items are available.
